Website Development
The Thinking Catholic web-host becomes a Virtual Assitant, and moves into website development and consulting.
Greetings! My name is Vic Biorseth, and I am at your service for small business, home business and/or personal SBI! website consulting and/or development. With two of my own SBI! websites up and running, and questions about them and about SBI! increasing, website development for others almost had to become at least a sideline activity.
While learning and using the SBI! methodology to do-it-yourself is quite easy, it seems that many either lack the self-confidence needed to get started without someone to coach them along, or, some may just lack the up-front time to devote to properly learning the SBI! way. Which is very important.
My own first two SBI! websites are, as many of you already know, the two links below:
www.Thinking-Catholic-Strategic-Center.com, www.Medical-Office-Management.com
What I can do for you to help you get your website development going ranges between direct coaching, answering questions and getting you un-stuck, done as a freebee, to doing the grunt work to properly get your new SBI! website off the ground, on up to actually doing all of your website development for you. SBI! (Site Build It) is pretty amazing in its completeness, scope and breadth of tools, educational do-as-you-learn guides and so forth. SBI! presents, quite literally, the perfect toolset for building successful websites for small businesses, and/or websites for personal/family use. Whether your planned site is for fun or for profit, SBI! provides, by far, the quickest and easiest path to a website that is destined to become a high traffic site.
(Note: If you don't need high traffic, then you don't need SBI!, and you don't need me. To see how a high traffic website eliminates the need to purchase any advertising or "leads", and replaces all traditional prospecting and sales tools, visit my Website Home Business page.)
The FIRST real obstacle most new SBI-ers need to get past is the notion that its too difficult, or too technical, or too hard for an ordinary Joe or Jane to do all alone. Well, we're not all alone; we can talk, any time. Web developers are ordinary people, just like you. The SECOND real obstacle for most new SBI-ers is the felt need to get: - A good working website up right now, and,
- very high traffic on that website right now.
SBI! is not a real quick website development methodology; it takes time. If you want your initial website up quick, you need to talk to someone like me. At least I don’t have a learning curve to go through; but even I still need to do the proper up-front analysis and “keyword brainstorming” to get a good, productive site off the ground, and you don’t generally do that stuff properly in one or just a few days. If you want eventual high traffic, it has to be started right, and continually done right.
It would be easy enough for me to just slap some real pretty webpages out there for you, but then they would just sit there. The only people who would ever find them would be the ones you told about them, because all the internet search engines would be too busy with the properly designed sites to ever get around to indexing and ranking yours.
My first SBI! site took me the better part of a month to do; I’ve been tweaking it and adding pages ever since. My second site took considerably less than two weeks to get up and running, and almost all of that time was spent in initial planning, before I ever began to built the first web page for the site. It still went a whole lot faster because I could do the tasks that needed to be done without learning about them and their importance. There’s a lot to be said for having been through the process.
I can testify that, most likely, it will take months for traffic to gradually (but measurably and consistently) build, from tens-per-day and hundreds-per-month on up to hundreds-per-day and thousands-per-month. If you do the up-front work properly, it will happen. I don’t know where my own first-site traffic peak is going to be, or even if there is one; the traffic trend remains up, with very good consistency. (SBI! gives you website traffic watching tools.)
A Word About “Key-Words”
What I (or SBI!) will add to the high-traffic success prospects for your new site are High Profit Key-Words woven into the textual content of your pages. You are the subject matter expert for your website, not me. You must either supply, or at least prompt me to build for you, your webpage text content. If you already have a website you would like to convert to an SBI! site, then all your text content is already available.
A High Profit word or combination of words is one that a large number of internet searchers are entering into search engines, and that only a small number of internet entities – websites – contain in their content.
Picking a domain name that is cutesy and easy to remember is good for mom and dad and the family, but not necessarily good for eventual high traffic. We’re talking about names for your domain itself, names for your individual webpages, and high value keywords carefully woven into your text content. Your content still must say what you want it to say; but it is possible for your content to speak profitably to the internet search engines at the same time, without losing your intended message.
The problem with a cutesy and easy to remember domain name is that nobody is searching for it; it will not automatically build you any traffic. At the opposite end, if you pick a very precise name describing what your actual business is about, it may be a word or combination of words that are represented in millions or billions of websites already out there. The supply is so high you will never be able to climb the stack of search results, meaning, gaining rank with the search engines. There is a web-based SBI! process called brainstorming that allows us to refine and “unique” our keywords, in order to get the best ones with high demand (lots of searchers) and low supply (not many sites using them) required to make them high profit (lots of search hits) keywords.
These are the unique keywords that, once the major internet search engines find them, will be visited again and again by the “ranking” software robot programs called spiders, which will bring your content – and your site – closer and closer to the top of the list of “hits” on searcher’s internet search pages.
Someone is out there searching for your Big WebSite Idea right now. The key thing we need to do is find out how they’re searching and what search words they’re using, and how to make your site give them what they’re looking for, while making it somehow stand out in the crowd of similar sites. That’s the best way to do your website development.
Domain names and page names are important, yes; but your textual content is crucial. Your content is what will build your traffic.
The Various Paths To New Website Development.
First, you have to sign up for the SBI service, which will cost USD$299 and is done by credit card. What you get for this is everything SBI! offers, including domain hosting. It will become an annual fee to keep your domain name and keep your site up and active on the server. There’s a lot that comes with that price, including the brainstorming tools, and having your pages automatically submitted and resubmitted to the major search engines, among other things. Like the step-by-step do-it-yourself guide to high traffic website development. (This could turn you into a web developer.)
1: In my opinion, this is the way to go: do it yourself. If you intend to do your own website development with no involvement of me other than as coach, and to occasionally answer questions and help you over minor hurdles, at no charge, then get your credit card out and go to the
Site Build It!
site to sign up with SBI!. Once done, send me an email at vic@thinking-catholic-strategic-center.com letting me know your phone number so we can get acquainted. I’ll send you my number by return email. If you don't have unlimited long distance yet, you can e-mail or just phone and hang up, and I'll call you back. I'll be happy to help you over any rough spots.
Using the SBI block-by-block website building method is easy. When you stack a “Text Block”, that’s where you put in your main website text content. You can just put your cursor in there and type away. But it’s not a word processor; if you want to do things like italicize words, or make them bold, or underline them and things like that, then you need to embed certain HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) codes before and after the text you want to affect. You do not have to do this; many people don’t do it at all. The beautiful thing about block-by-block website development is, precisely, that you do not need anything else, including HTML knowledge, to do your own website development. But if you want to use italics and so forth, then you need a little HTML knowledge, or a handy HTML reference of some kind.
I’ve written an e-book for block-by-block SBI site builders, with only the HTML codes you need for text editing. If you want to do website development for yourself but you’re not yet familiar with HTML, you can get this concise, printable e-book right here for USD $16.00.
It’s a handy, brief guide for you to immediately print off to keep handy at your elbow as you build content for your pages. (It’s about 23 pages.) Doing your own website development is not hard; SBI makes it easy. That doesn’t mean you don’t have to do work, but that it’s no where near as technical as you might think.
I want you to learn that you can do website development, and do it right. SBI! could make a professional webmaster out of you.
2: If you want me to start and/or build your site, then I need to do the SBI! sign up myself to make sure I have initial authority to build and modify it for you. Email me at vic@thinking-catholic-strategic-center.com with the particulars, and we’ll get started. It will mean extensive phone, chat or email conversations so I can learn about your ideas, intent, initial concept, get a rough idea of web design and the nature of your beginning website content. In the beginning, I will probably bother you quite a bit for awhile.
Once I know your main concept and topic (or product, or service) I will need to identify and carefully develop some 20 to 30 related descriptive and yet profitable keyword phrases to be woven into your textual content.
If I start your website development, the way that I will do it is to draw from the bank of pre-identified keywords and use them to build your first five basic pages for your website, and put them out there live. I will keep you fully apprised of your keywords, what I’m doing and the status of your site, so that you may take over at any time.
3: If I continue your website development, I will continue to draw from the bank of keywords, and add to it as necessary, to build and bring up more pages on your site beyond the first five. (None of these pages will be created without your personal request or your prior knowledge and consent.)
What I charge for proper SBI! website development and building web pages:
- USD$900 for initial setup, analysis, keyword research and the first five basic pages.
- USD$200 per page for each page beyond the first five if you do not provide me with raw text amounting to some 200 to 600 words. (I will weave keywords into it making it into a keyword-focused page.)
- USD$100 per page for each page beyond the first five if you do provide the raw text for me to work with.
Within the limits of your topic (or product, or service) I will put content on your pages that is powerful and keyword focused to the utmost, so that people searching for it will find it. This is the key to website development for high traffic.
I'm always available, though out-of-sight, out-of-mind. I'm only an on-line chat-nudge, or an email, or a phone call away. I can be your virtual assistant to help you to:
- become your own website developer
- become a web developer for others
- get your first website started for you
- do all of your website development for you
- any or all of the above.
Email me at vic@thinking-catholic-strategic-center.com and let’s get your website development started. If you just need advice and coaching, we’ll get started. If you need more than that, then I can fill in the blanks on the contract, probably while we're talking on the phone. I'll email it to you, you can sign it and fax it back, and we'll get rolling.
Regards,
Vic
