The Investigation on Haditha is now complete
And the sudden silence of the SLIMC is deafening.

The Haditha "incident" occurred November 19, 2005; it involved an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) attack on Marines, followed up by AK-47 small arms fire from a house. The Marine response was aggressive; Marines tend to be aggressive, and their ROE (Rules Of Engagement) are, in these circumstances, quite aggressive. Results of the engagement were four armed insurgents killed, and 15 civilians killed, in the house from which the initial small arms fire came, and another house through which the insurgents fled. The investigation proved that the Marines followed precisely the rules of engagement and that the civilians were victims of collateral damage on the hot battlefield, and certainly not executed or even knowingly or willingly killed by Marines. And there was no cover-up, by anyone. The entire incident was reported immediately. Marines remained on the scene for many hours after the incident, helping with removal and identification of the dead.
I'll bet you didn't hear any of that from the SLIMC.
The March 27 Time Magazine reported that the Marines at Haditha just barged into private homes, throwing grenades and shooting innocent people who were cowering in fear. Another completely false MSM "News" report; so what else is new? But then, the yellow-bellied cut-and-runner, Rep. John Murtha (D. PA) jumped in with his own imaginative version, declaring that the "true" story, of which he was privy, was that even more innocent civilians had been murdered than were reported by Time. He stated flatly that the United States Marines had "killed innocent civilians in cold blood." Which turns out to have been, of course, a flagrant categorical lie. Which makes Murtha a flagrant categorical liar, doesn't it. He also flatly stated that "there was no firefight." Another lie. Now that the investigation is complete, there will be no further comment from him, or from the rest of the SLIMC.
In other news, we learn that the bodies of the two recently captured Screaming Eagles of the famous 101st Airborne division have been recovered by their brothers near the town of Youssifiyah, south of Baghdad. And, it turns out again, as it always does, that the Islamic enemy holds to no recognizable moral standard, and certainly no international standards regarding either warfare or treatment of POWs. These young warriors had been tortured before being murdered, and their bodies were mutilated.
More silence from the SLIMC. Not a peep out of Amnesty International. The Leftie Dems who foam at the mouth over a stain on the kid-glove of the hand that gives a Koran to one of the Islamic bloody butchers in Gitmo have nothing to say about tortured, murdered and mutilated American POWs. Perhaps the cat has their tongues.
John Flipflop/Turncoat Kerry authored a bill requiring US forces to cut-and-run by the end of the year, but he didn't have the guts to submit it for a vote, so someone else did. It lost, by 93 to 6. Let me guess who some of the six might be: Teddy "Iraq is (hic) another Vietnam (hic)" Kennedy; Johnny "If you don't believe ... Saddam Hussein is a threat with nuclear weapons, then you shouldn't vote for me" Kerry; John "We can't win this militarily" Murtha. Kerry's (and Feingold's) new cut-and-run date is now supposed to be July 1, 2007. All the Democrats are, in fact, quite ready to wave the white flag in Iraq.
Just in case his next cut-and-run date doesn't make it either, Kerry is now calling for high level, international negotiations with the terrorists, no doubt over cocktails, with the negotiators to include, besides Al Qaeda, terrorist countries like Syria and Iran. And probably France. I wouldn't be surprised if he were already secretly talking to the bad guys, just as he talked to his buddies, the Viet Cong, during the Vietnam War, behind his nations back.
What's really motivating the Dems and all other Lefties and Marxists with a political or media public voice, is the growing recognition of the distinct possibility of an actual increase in real, actual, Democracy in the world. That's what they can't stand, and what really has them all in a lather. In the Marxist view, the socio-political wave of the future should always be Marxism, not Democracy. Even the so-called centrist Dems know that. Newly centrist Madame Hillary even wrote a best seller on it, titled It Takes A Commune To Raise A Child, remember? Excuse me, did I say Commune? I meant to say Village.
As you can see in the Islam and the Jews page, Democracy, and every other form of government or law other than the Islamic Sharia, is strictly against the religion of Islam. And yet, the people of Iraq, overwhelmingly, voted themselves into a new Democracy. However imperfect, however shaky and wobbly its first steps, however risky, however at odds with its nearest neighbors, it is a newborn representative Democracy, and the Iraqi people have spoken. And this was not a small majority, by any means. As time goes on, if it survives its first years of existence, Iraqi freedom can only grow stronger, and, there is this: freedom is infectious. Freedom's flag, and representative Democracy, is now sprouting right in the middle of a bunch of Islamic dictatorships.
As I said in the Islam and the Jews page, to the degree that Islamic people move toward and into representative Democracy, to that same degree do they move out of and away from the way of Islam, which cannot, and dares not, allow the citizen, in his majority, to become the sovereign. Without promoting any other religion, Democracy, in and of itself, imposes a certain degree of separation between ecclesial government and civil government. Civil government must be secular, and not religious, for Democracy to work. We can only pray that Iraqi government never becomes secularist, as ours has. Civil government being free of religious rules does not mean civil government flatly opposing and suppressing any particular religion, as pure secularism demonstrably does in America.
It may take many generations, and it may never perfectly happen, but if freedom lives long enough in that area of the world, the form and function of Islam practiced by what increasingly become sovereign citizens will, I predict, move away from notions of Islamic world domination and conquest by the sword, and toward a more civil, more tranquil, more peaceful era of prosperity, brotherhood, neighborliness and coming together in the open world marketplace. Bush was and is right, in more ways than one. Democracies, as a rule, do not make war on each other. And, Democracy, as a rule, is a voluntarily accepted majority-rule force that can temper if not eventually destroy the most hateful, destructive, warlike and freedom-limiting aspects of Islam.
All the people in that part of the world are God's children, too. They have much the same wants and needs, emotions, hopes and dreams as anyone else. Their individual and collective behavior is largely a product of their culture, their up-bringing and their faith. As we watch their individual and collective conditions improve under Democracy, we should take lessons from it, and do whatever we can to stop the decline in our own Democratic progress and our own Judao-Christian morality.
Now, the gorgeous talking heads of the MSM and pundits of the Leftist Press will accentuate the negative and eliminate the positive from all reporting on Iraq, and on Afghanistan. They will insist that we are losing, and cannot win, and that we should cut and run. And, they will insist that no one, no one, can criticize the likes of Murtha and Kerry, because they are decorated veterans.
Sez who?
Maybe they were decorated, but that was then and this is now. And, it may be argued, Kerry, and no one else, decorated Kerry. Benedict Arnold was, without question, a decorated American hero. He was also a turncoat and a traitor, just like Kerry, and, probably, just like Murtha.
Iraq needs our support, now more than ever. The overwhelming majority of the Iraqi people do not deserve to be deserted in their hour of need, as were the South Vietnamese people in the disgraceful Congressionally required American cut-and-run that ended the Vietnam War.

I think you are getting a bit starry-eyed over the soldiers. When the "young warriors of the famous 101st Airborne division" were found, there was also a slip of paper which said that this was done to avenge Abeer Hamza and her family. Perhaps you should read about what happened to her. Of course, torturing enemy combatants goes against every convention, treaty, or basic humanity, but rage can dull your eyes. The unfortunate US soldiers were not guilty, and the real culprits were later punished, but you cannot expect enemy to make that distinction. It is, as you say, "collateral damage."
Among the 15 civilians killed in Haditha, 4 were children. How do you explain that away? You look before you shoot, right? Trying to explain all that away as just "typical marine aggressive reaction" is bit far-fetched.
Like it or not, Vic, the fact remains that most soldiers are not the brightest pennies around. Most of them are barely 20 year old kids, ill-educated, with delusions of being young Omar Bradleys. So Hadithas and Abeer Hamsas will continue to happen, and so will the bloodiness of Iraqis when they get their grubby hands on one of the soldiers. No offense, just a fact.

You’re right; we cannot expect Moslems to make any distinction between innocence or guilt, a soldier or a civilian, a warrior or an ordinary citizen, or any other distinction that any normal civilized man would make. Moslems are uncivilized. They are barbarians. The conventions, treaties and so forth that you mention do not apply to non-uniformed terrorists any more than they apply to pirates or non-uniformed spies. American soldiers are being far too kind to take any of them alive.
Why should I explain four dead children in a battle? You should explain it. Moslems don’t give a damn about collateral damage and you know it, so stop pretending.
You are way off on the quality of American fighting men today. All of them are volunteers, and I would wager that the average 20 year old American Marine is better educated than you are, and that he will kick your Moslem ass, and your ass alone, if you don’t run and hide among women and children like a yellow coward.

Never mistake a straight on statement of fact for bluster. This article was about the false reporting, politicizing and political posturing regarding the fire fight at Haditha. You have already stated that Abeer Hamza had nothing whatsoever to do with the murdered paratroopers, or with the Haditha story, so why should I explain it?
