Tet Lie Redux:
The Monstrous Effects of Media Flagrant Categorical Lies
Vic Biorseth, http://www.Thinking-Catholic-Strategic-Center.com
I spoke at length in the Vietnam War page about the lengths to which the predominantly Leftist-Marxist - SLIMC went to falsely portray the Tet Offensive as a military victory for the Communists, and a severe defeat for the US military. The effects of that massive flagrant lie are still with us.
When first confronted with the truth about it, NBC big-shot Robert Northshield glossed it over with how the American public now believed America lost, and, therefore, America did lose, see?
If you make 'em believe it, it becomes true.
So, in their view, Reality is whatever the Hell the SLIMC says it is.
Gradually, the talking-head media and the news-print media softened the story to something like, Although the Tet Offensive was a military defeat for North Vietnam, it was a stunning political victory for them because of it's dramatic effect on the American public.
Right.
Tet was a major political victory for International Communism strictly and solely because it was falsely reported by the SLIMC to be a military victory for them.
All fundamental Marxists believe that the ends justify the means.
Communism's fifth column in America was led by the SLIMC, and was doing everything in its power to foment discord, create an alienated, angry "class" of American citizens, and get them out into the streets. The Vietnam War was not lost on the battlefield, where not one single US unit ever lost one single battle. The Vietnam War was lost in America, on the streets, and ultimately in the ballot boxes.
And Communism cheered. From the very beginning, the Communist position was that at least 50% of the struggle was involved in publicity and pure politics. And American journalism did its part; our media was, in truth, the front-line shock troops that won the day for the Communization of Southeast Asia. You can see the details of how they did this spelled out in the Vietnam War page.
Now, fast-forward to today, and look at what's happening in Iraq, at what the positions of the antagonists are, and at how it's all being reported.
- Al Queda has stated and emphasized that at least 50% of the struggle is involved in publicity and pure politics. Just like the Communists of the 60's, the Moslem Terrorists of the 21st century know that we are an actual, operating Democracy, in which the sovereign citizen actually has a voice, and uses it.
- Al Queda says that Iraq is the center stage for the ultimate battle in which they seek to put all their resources and efforts to militarily defeat "The West." That's what the terrorists say; but the Dems and the SLIMC say that Iraq is the wrong place and the wrong way to fight terrorism, and we ought to get our troops out of there. Which would, of course, be interpreted by the terrorists - and, I might add, by the SLIMC - to be a resounding military defeat for America.
- And, it would be a resounding defeat, since the goal of Al Queda is to take command and sovereignty away from the people of Iraq, and the goal of "The West" is to not allow Al Queda to do that. The Dems and the SLIMC are consciously and purposely doing at least 50% of Al Queda's work for them. The publicity and the politics part. Sound familiar?
- What the terrorists are trying to do in Iraq is, with as much national and international publicity as possible, bring about a civil war between the Shia and the Sunni factions in Iraq. They go about this horrible business by massive acts of bombing and massacre of innocents, and desecration of holy sites, which are made to appear to be done by others, so that others will be blamed, and revenge will be sought.
- What the Dems are speechifying and the Dem-owned SLIMC is reporting is that Iraq actually is in a state of civil war, and that we therefore have even less justification for continued military involvement.
- Thanks to terrorist as well as ordinary Iraqi citizen attention to mass-media news, Iraq is increasingly moving toward civil war, as factions and militias and "hit squads" begin to commit revenge attacks on perceived opposition groups. It's becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy.
What complicates matters is the weird culture of that area of the world. American forces first encountered some of it in Afghanistan, with its Let's Make A Deal sounding, on-again off-again alliances and battles between factions, militias, sheiks or war-lords or whatever they are. Today they might be killing each other, but tomorrow they might call up on a cell phone and become buddies.
There are individuals in Iraq that appear to have as much or more power and support of the people as any king or premier or prime minister. The tribalism and factionalism and militia-ism even seems to have somewhat invaded the Iraqi police and the military. It's difficult to know who owes the most allegiance to whom. This is a culture that is so foreign to the average American that it might as well be from Mars.
But what we are seeing in Iraq is not a civil war. Not yet. There are no massive armies aligned against each other, and open conflict is not evident. What is happening involves isolated incidents, done sneakily, and not openly, as in a real civil war. It hard to tell when a Shia militiaman did some deed, as to whether an outside terrorist did it; but if it were a real civil war, there would be no doubt in anyone's mind about it. That's the nature of civil war.
Remember, in the Vietnam War, the whole war was falsely reported by the SLIMC to be a civil war rather than another Communist takeover. It's a media lie that appears to be being repeated in Iraq.
Nothing about any war or military conflict is ever easy. Nothing ever goes perfectly or according to any plan. There are always unanticipated problems that crop up and have to be dealt with, and almost always a predicted "short" conflict somehow turns into a longer one. But none of the problems in Iraq are insurmountable or unsolvable.
The only thing that can really defeat American forces is publicity and politics. The terrorists consider half the battle in Iraq to involve publicity and politics.
And the terrorists are seeing, every day, in print and in broadcast news, and in Dem speeches, Americans standing up to be publicly heard while roundly denouncing their President and the American Commander In Chief, and his strategy, in a time of war. When they aren't outright calling him a liar, they are mocking him or portraying him as some kind of complete incompetant.
So what's the motivation of the Dems and the SLIMC for defeating American forces this time around?
I could be wrong, but, from my viewpoint, they are totally motivated by winning the mid-term elections this November. That's my view; I think they are too dim witted to realize, or too evil to care about, the irreparable harm an American pull-out would do to that region of the world.
This is not just short-sightedness, regarding the direct threat to us from Islam. It is stupidity of a level that can only be described as suicidal. They don't have the first clue of what to do once the Islamic Jihadists take over Iraq and become a major power center; they might call on the courts, or maybe refer the problem to the UN or something. But it will be too late.
There will be the birthing of an Islamic Jihadist Caliphate from the Mediterranean Sea to India. That is the ultimate dream of the terrorists.
Keep you eye on the ball. Pay attention to spin.
Don't let the Dems get any more power.
You owe it to your family, your country and your troops to not contribute to another American military defeat.
Vote American.
May you please God, and my you live forever.
