Scepter RSV Bible, Catholic Edition. My favorite model: leather bound, gilt edges, indented index tabs. Orwell's 1984, written in 1949, still excellent. What happens when all power rests with government, and none with the citizen. Orwell's Animal Farm: How anti-tyranny revolutionaries can become totalitarian tyrants. Goodbye, Good Men - M. S. Rose, shows how MOST American bishops employ Gate-Keeping stratagems to keep orthodox Catholic men out of ministry. The Ratzinger Report: A future pope forthrightly addresses the multiple crises in the post-Vatican II Church. The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis, classically presents correspondence between Wormwood, a temptor-demon-in-training, and his mentor, Screwtape, a Senior Demon. Nguyen Van Canh's Vietnam Under Communism describes the judicial murders, the bamboo gulag, the re-education camps and all the predictable results of America's betrayal. Brent Bozell's And That's The Way It Isn't shows how very little of anything you ever read, saw or heard as mainstream media 'news' was un-spun and true. Hollywood Vs America, Michael Medved, explores how show-biz pursues it's own dark, amoral phantasies versus what the public wants, even to the detriment of profit. F.A.Hayek's Counter Revolution of Science describes Scientism: the un-empirical, subjective, elitist, collective, 'popular composite' approach used by today's so-called scientists. In Hoodwinking The Nation, Julian Simon systematically destroys media-popularized social myths, re human population, limited resources, environment, pollution, food production, etc. William Donohue's Politics of the ACLU. A better name would be Anti-CHRISTian-Litigation-Union, as it systematically opposes Constitutional right to free Christian expression in the public square. The Secret World of American Communism uses Soviet archives to document subversive activities in the USA. (If they're really out to get you, you're not really paranoid.)
