Atheizing America
Vic Biorseth, http://www.Thinking-Catholic-Strategic-Center.com
The effort aimed at atheizing America is not any grass-roots effort; it comes from the top down, not from the bottom up. Our supposedly representative government is doing it. The thing that really bugs me is how we all keep going about our daily business as if a threat were not approaching. We seem, sometimes, to be as moths fluttering about a candle flame, drawn closer and closer to it's light and warmth and beauty, yet not recognizing it for what it actually is. But it's a fire.
Secularism is having quite a field day, supported as it is by the Left, the Democrats, the Courts, Show-Biz, the SLIMC and the thoroughly disgusting ACLU. Through their efforts, we are all being forced to be, or at least to appear to be, atheists. The complete religious intolerance of the Left is completely cleansing the public square of all Christian religious expression.
It's even crept into non-public places and enterprises and organizations. The materialistic-atheist Left virtually owns entertainment, academia, the Democratic Party and not a few Republicans. In all of these areas, the elitist pseudo-sophisticated intolerance of Christianity is as obvious as is the open hypocrisy.
Again, survey after survey shows that we are a nation with a population that is 86% professed Christian, and 92% professed Theists of some sort, however well or poorly we may practice our diverse religions. That is what we call ourselves.
Turn on your TV, and see what's broadcast, and what ideas are being projected, to us, and to the larger world. Is it representative of us, the Christian overwhelming majority?
No.
It is representative of the writers and producers and the movers and shakers in high ranking show-biz circles. Obviously these people do not share our Western Culture guiding ethos, but rather, they follow the ethos of BMDFP and Democrats.
TV today uses and overuses sex as a mere entertainment venue. Even disregarding the open porno of America's protected and seemingly unregulated masturbation industry, just about any sit-com or series-show on TV today will feature sex as the main topic; 70% or 80% or more of the theme of the entire show will revolve around something sexual. Pick a series. Even the rare individual shows within a series that are not predominantly of a sexual nature will have something sexual within them. And, in most shows, a sexual theme will predominate.
Compare the "olden days" sitcoms or series like Ozzie and Harriet, The Honeymooners, I Love Lucy, Dragnet, Roy Rogers, and anything else you can name from that era, to today's Friends, Sex In The City, Family Guy, Bevis And Butthead, Everybody Loves Raymond, and anything else you can name from this era. Any objective comparison will show an obvious change from shows with a moral, i.e., with Judeo-Christian morality at its base, to shows without a moral, that are amoral, with no morality at their base.
Show-biz executives love to squeal that they're only reflecting back society's own existing image; that's bull feathers. What they're reflecting back is their own image, not ours. And they'll claim that what they reflect is reality, because shows like Ozzie And Harriet were phony, since no real families like that existed; and that's just a load of horse patooties. Yes they did exist, although probably not as funny. The fact that families like that did not and do not exist among the show-biz types does not mean that they did not and do not exist. It merely means that show-biz is completely out of touch with grass-roots America, just like all the rest of the hard Left they are a part of.
If any Christianity is shown as part of TV entertainment today it will be shown in a negative light. Clerics will be portrayed as buffoons and clowns, liturgy of any kind will be shown in a bad light, trivialized or mocked in some way, and if any main character shows any sign of religiosity at all, it will be as an unimportant, background, sort of Sunday inconvenience, at best.
TV today is just plain crude. Even the cartoons are poorly drawn. Not only is today's talent in question, but the cultural crudity is just sickening. And this crudity is not limited to TV, although that's the main wellspring of our clear and visible cultural decline.
"Music" today is not even music. Singing is on its way out. Take your typical "rap" or "hip hop" so-called song today. It's a very heavy beat, accompanied by a sort of syncopated talking or mumbling of poorly enunciated, miss-pronounced, jargon-dependent quasi-English words put together so poorly as to be nearly incomprehensible. But then, if you could comprehend them, you would realize that much of it is obscene anyway, so you're probably better off not comprehending. On the bright side, it provides an outlet for the no-talent star wannabe. If you can't hold a note, you can still rap; if you can't play any instrument, you can still beat on a can or something, or you can buy yourself one of those synthesizers. Anybody can be a rapper.
Melody? What's a melody? Tune? What's a tune? We don't need no stinking tune.
Look to the SLIMC controlled Leftist media reports on the latest political "October Surprise" stories surrounding the Foley scandal. Foley, a Republican, turned out to be a typical active homosexual out trolling for teenaged conquests among the Congressional pages. When some non-explicit but questionable electronic communications from him to a page were revealed to House leadership, appropriate action was taken to get him to desist from such communications. There was nothing there that could go to court or be shown to be in any way illegal.
Then, months later, in the Democratic Party's October Surprise it is "leaked" (yeah, right) to the SLIMC that the Democratic leakers had many more electronic communications, which they had been secretly sitting on for months and months, and which were of a much more incriminating nature. Republican leadership immediately demanded and got Foley's resignation as the investigation began.
Of course, the Dems temporarily switched from being the pro-sodomy, pro-gay-marriage Party to open gay-bashing. Oh, the horror of this homosexual predator seeking contact with under-aged pages. The term pedophile was even used, even though all the pages were post-adolescent boys; Republican House leadership was called on to resign or be thrown out because of the relatively innocuous and non-prosecutable messages they knew about before the big Democratic "leak" surprise.
Similar Democratic scandals are not even mentioned in the mainstream news. Barney Frank, famously known as the Democratic Party's Congressional House Faggot, who had his little "house boy" running a homosexual whorehouse for him out of his apartment, was not even mentioned. His Party's leadership in the House was never asked to step down or be removed. Investigation into his communications was attacked as an invasion of his privacy. In fact, Frank was re-elected, in Massachusetts, where they absolutely love the likes of him, Kennedy, Kerry, abortion, gay marriage and total, complete tolerance of open, in-your-face public faggotry.
The SLIMC is even talking up Hillary as the next President, and drooling over the possibility of her appointing Billary as her Secretary of State, without the slightest hesitation or even memory of his use (or abuse) of interns. The open hypocrisy would be staggering if we didn't realize that atheism has no guiding ethos; the ends justify the means for these people.
And, here I go, blaming secularism again. It had its long march through the institutions of show-biz and academia and the Democratic Party and the Courts, and it owns them all. That's my main contention. Big shot secularists often play-act at Christian religiosity before their constituency when they're visiting back home to garner votes, but that's just for the benefit of what they consider to be the local hicks. When they get back to the seats of power, they will go right back to secularizing society by law and by force.
They are forcing their religion on us, against our will.
Now, they will argue, atheism is not a religion; I disagree. Atheism is nothing more than a strictly faith-based belief system that happens to be exactly opposed to Theism.
The Theist faithfully believes, in the absence of any empirical or material proof of his belief, in the existence of God (or gods.)
The atheist faithfully believes, in the absence of any empirical or material proof of his belief, in the non-existence of God (or gods.)
The atheist may be said to be faithful; indeed, many of them have stronger faith in their atheism than many Theists. The bottom line is that their belief is based upon faith alone, and not on any physical evidence or so-called scientific basis whatsoever. God cannot be proved; God cannot be disproved.
You can call this whatever you choose; I call both positions religious positions, based upon faith and nothing else.
And I have no problem with the religion of atheism. My only problem is with secularism, which is a pro-active form of aggressive atheism that seeks to impose itself on others against their will. Nobody tells me what to believe. The primary goal of secularism involves atheizing America.
Now, the First Amendment of our Constitution begins Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
which places two (2) restrictions on Congress, and no restrictions on anyone else. - Congress cannot establish any official religion for America.
- Congress cannot prevent us from any religious expression.
And, of course, Congress never officially established atheism as the official religion of America - the Supreme Court did that on its own. And, Congress never officially sought to religiously cleanse the public square of all Christian free expression - the Courts did and are doing that.
Of course, the Court today is owned by the Democratic Party, and the Democratic Party is owned by secularism. Again, the problem I have with all of this is that we the people are being forced by law to be or to appear to be atheist in public. When we act like we're atheist, and we walk like we're atheist, and we talk like we're atheist, and we appear to be constantly seen in the company of what appear to be atheists, an objective neutral observer might logically conclude that we are all atheists.
We are not atheists.
While we are still free, we are called to do good critical thinking. If we are Catholic, we are called to be thinking Catholics. If we are American, we are called to actually read our own Constitution, and to understand it to the point of owning it.
Your faith is the most important aspect of your life. Don't let any legal-eagle try to force you into reducing it. Don't be schmoozed out of your faith by Hollywood and the TV and any form of popular entertainment.
Remember, putting your religion aside, ever, even for an instant, is strictly against the religion of everyone who has a real religion. Don't do it.
If you value your faith tradition, then do something about it.
Find the way to please God, and live forever.
