I submit that the entire main stream news media, both print and electronic, the majority of publishing houses, the overwhelming majority in show biz, the near unanimous voice heard from the upper echelons of academia, most levels of the court system, almost all of the Democratic Party, and some of the Republican Party are secularist. That is, they seek to actively secularize or religiously cleanse the public square and much of the rest of American society. Predominantly, they seek to suppress open expressions of Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular, with the occasional bone tossed to other religions. It is Christianity, the religion of the majority, that they seek to eliminate completely from the entire public sphere. This means public schools, public buildings, organizations and associations and clubs, even the market place. The goal is to drive Christianity into the strictly private sphere where expression of religion may not ever be seen in public. This is the religious cleansing of the American public square and the American people, and it is the primary focus of the SLIMC. The SLIMC absolutely despises any open Christian religious exercise, or even the slightest religious expression, the First Amendment Constitutional right to free religious exercise notwithstanding. The goal seems to be to force the American citizens, against their will, in public, to be, appear to be or pretend to be atheist, and not only atheist, but very pro-active, evangelizing atheist, which is to say, secularist, like them. Leftist political office holders and the Democrat selected and controlled court system joins in and actually supports (if not drives) this anti-Christian public secularizing or religious cleansing effort with clearly unconstitutional civil law, and pro-secularist judgments in civil cases brought before the courts. LIBERAL: Second letter in SLIMC. Today the older and more honored usage of the term Liberal has been overridden by the hard, cold reality that those who describe themselves as Liberal today are in fact more accurately described as Leftist, a term that is near synonymous with the term Marxist. They would prefer to call themselves Socialist, but the great Social thinker all Socialists quote the most is Karl Marx. And I'm sorry, but Karl Marx didn't write any Socialist Manifesto; what he wrote was the Communist Manifesto, and he was no great Socialist thinker, but a dark, brooding malcontent and a bloody revolutionary. The SLIMC is, overwhelmingly and almost definitively, Marxist. INTELLECTUAL: Third letter in SLIMC. Those who deal professionally with ideas and who present them in public are generally known as the intelligentsia, or the intellectual community of a culture. Today's American intelligentsia give intellectualism a bad name. There is no critical thinking. There is no wisdom. Frequently, today, modernist intellectuals are little more than the possessors of numerous, large piles of facts, which alone mean nothing, and which even contradict each other. But as they increase the number and sizes of their piles of facts, their egos and their pride are, almost invariably, similarly increased, and are ultimately transformed into arrogance, and strong belief that they are vastly superior and more wise than are all those non intellectuals beneath them. They have not sought the truth, and they do not use their many facts to find the truth; the search for facts has become an end in itself, and, in their truly limited intellect, they equate possession of piles of facts with wisdom. Quite frequently, the more they learn, the less practical they become, the less they seek the truth, and the less common sense they exhibit. Facts are beautiful and attainable, while truth is elusive; rather than maintaining an inexorable quest for elusive and evasive truth, they quickly and easily “deduce” truth from their piles of facts, and then quickly go on to the next question. Thus they have “solved” so many problems of mankind, and thus they plan to solve so many more. They have made themselves “experts” by the acquisition of specialized knowledge; in their opinion, the rest of us should recognize their expertise, bow before it, shut up and listen to them. Furthermore, we should not be surprised that an overwhelming majority of America's intelligentsia today are Leftist, i.e., Marxist, and that their sometimes not-so-hidden agenda is, not only to discredit Capitalism, but, through flawed government policy and unrepresentative regulation, to prod Capitalism toward failure in hopes of eventually replacing it with a completely planned society - a Socialism, in some form. MEDIA: Fourth letter in SLIMC. 1) The major networks. ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN (Communist News Network), MSN. 2) Very nearly every single newspaper in America. 3) Very nearly ever single news magazine in America. 4) Show Biz. 5) Popular music, with the single most frequent exceptions being found in the Country genre. If there is anything that can be counted on today, it is that the news we will read or watch or listen to will have a secularist, Leftist, and generally anti-Western culture spin. Movies may be depended upon to have villains who are racist, sometimes so white as to appear to be albino, associated with evil industry, toxic waste, ecological disaster, greed, and - you get the picture. The word "profit" will not be used except following the word "obscene." The term "tax cut" will not be used except when followed by the term "for the rich." Military and industry will always be shown in negative terms, and always with the hint of some dark conspiracy between them. COMPLEX: Fifth letter in SLIMC. In his 1961 farewell speech, President Eisenhower warned of potential danger from the growing influence of a possible future military industrial complex, something to be on guard against, lest it come into existence and gain unwarranted power. The Leftist media pounced on that term and has never let go; within weeks of the speech, the Left was reporting in the news that they were seeing a military industrial complex under every bed in America. That remains the condition of reporting on it today, although none has ever been observed or documented or even shown to exist. Unlike the Left, I do not claim the existence of any dark conspiracy supporting the SLIMC. How the SLIMC came to be was, primarily, through education, once the Left completed their long march through the institutions and took over academia in America. Generally, the more educated someone is today, the more degrees they have, the more steeped they will be in Leftist ideologies. Many of them become teachers, and children tend to believe whatever their teachers teach them. It is obvious that most of the stars of show biz and popular music today are, almost overwhelmingly, super-simplistic, Leftist utopian idealists. If true conspiracy exists at all, it exists in the rarified atmosphere of top level politics, and I here state that a complex does indeed exist between the Leftist news media and the Leftist Democratic Party. In fact, as documented in "And That's The Way it Isn't" by Brent Bozell, there exists a virtual revolving door between positions or even offices in Leftist (predominantly Democratic Party) politics and mainstream media Journalism, with ideologues going back and forth across the news media - political line all the time. One year they're running for some office, the next their reporting on the news, the next they're on someone's campaign staff, the next they're doing commentaries, and on and on. It's like going back and forth between the cheerleaders and the team. Marxism owns academia, the news media and the Democratic Party. Almost all Western journalists today are, philosophically, Communists. (Note: Most philosophical Communists do not even know what they are.)
