This didn’t happen over-night. It took a lot of years for the Left to complete it’s long march through American and other Western institutions of learning and knowledge. But it is here. Perhaps you wonder what the hell I’m talking about.
Think about how it could have ever come to pass that a personage as famous and as trusted as Walter Cronkite might ever have stated openly, before the cameras, the opinion that American citizens should be willing to swallow the “bitter pill” of surrendering their own sovereignty, and nobody even noticed. No big deal. What does surrendering sovereignty mean? It means no longer being a nation, and no longer being ruled by ourselves, but by someone else. To be ruled by someone unnamed, and un-representative of us.
Think about how it could have ever come to pass that a personage as famous and as trusted as Walter Cronkite could publicly state that, if given the choice between betraying America and betraying a friend, that he would chose to betray his country, and nobody even noticed. No big deal. How could he possibly betray his own country and not betray all of his friends by that very act? Well, he could only do it if all of his friends were fellow traitors against their own country.
Look at the various links in the right column of this page, and see all the times I have ranted about our “News” as reported by professional journalists, most all of whom idolize Walter Cronkite and hold him up as the ultimate icon of their profession. He was, of course, a professional liar; he was paid by his employers to lie. He lied on a regular basis, before he cameras and the microphones, to audiences of millions, and he became rich and famous via the smooth execution of the professional lie.
I have known that the media had gone Left way back when Fidel Castro first announced he was a Marxist-Leninist, and the media still applauded him, and they still do. What does that tell you?
Professional racists like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and their ilk, whose prosperity and careers depend upon the continuance and exaggeration of Marxist class warfare of a strictly racist nature, are not exposed by the media; quite the opposite. They are lauded as great leaders of the black community. Just when you think it couldn’t get any dumber than this, all you have to do is look a little more to your Left. Rosie O’Donnel, Code Pink, etc., support, help, and champion their own future murderers by supporting Islam in its intended destruction of Israel and the annihilation of the Jews. But, of course, the media doesn’t even notice.
Just about every big-name talking head and widely recognized journalist you ever heard of is a MEJTML, just like Walter Cronkite. They, and their bosses, have an ulterior motive. Following the lead of Karl Marx, they seek to modify society rather than just describe it.
Even the mildest, or perhaps the least guilty of today’s journalists who are supposed to be reporting the news will color it, to go along with bosses, peer consensus, advertisers and sponsors. Look at the HIV=AIDS=DEATH hoax, for instance – not one of them will ever investigate it. Even if any of them even mention the hoax of anthropomorphic global warming, it will be a soft mention, and followed by a “still a controversial topic” closing remark.
They will not investigate controversy; they do not seek the truth.
They are, in short, a disgrace to their once honorable profession. I pray that the new Glenn Beck initiative at GBTV.COM will really take off, and that it may be the beginning of a new era of subscription TV over the internet. Go there, register, and begin watching TV on your computer, IPad or whatever; turn off the crap and watch the real deal, with no advertising.
Go through the articles in the right column, and tell me something good about the members of our SLIMC, if you can.
I bid you good reading.

I've only recently discovered this fascinating web site, and am quite excited by the general concept, as described on the home page. I confess to having sympathy for the sentiments expressed here, but for this reason I am writing, to admonish myself as well as others who are tempted to direct intense emotion into “ranting.” I think some things said here might be expressed more prudently, with greater diplomacy, to thus achieve greater effect. That would be the pragmatic reason on the political level for such an admonishment, but more importantly is a spiritual reason: let us remember that Our Lord said, “You must be as cautious as snakes and as gentle as doves,” (Mt. 10:16) when dealing with the pack of wolves that oppress the faithful and the order of justice.
The battle which the author engages must certainly be fought, but the tactics and strategy to implement, I would argue, are those of Our Blessed Lady, who Scripture tells us will crush the head of the ancient Serpent (Gen. 3:15), and who has Herself promised that Her Immaculate Heart will triumph (message of Fatima). We must be formed as spiritual warriors in Her training camp, in Her spirituality, by learning to imitate Her virtues, among which are humility and sweetness. Remember, the Lord also said: "I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes.” (Mt 11:25, Lk 10:21) I propose that to win the battle for the culture, which is truly a spiritual battle, we must adopt Christ’s and Our Blessed Lady’s spirituality, and become like "babes." Jesus told us: “Learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.” (Mt. 11:29). All this is to suggest a correction of the tone in which many of t he truths in this site in this site are expressed—a tone of righteous indignation, and even disdainful anger and contempt—that in the end might short-circuit the good that the author is seeking to realize. We must avoid the possibility of offending God, which we might do if we linger on the border of sinful pride, or destructive passion, by indulging in righteous indignation at what others do when we ourselves are sinners, or by presuming that we would be doing a much better job of things if we were in charge of the show.
One weakness of the American mentality (a mentality which has produced in many respects a great nation, but which is now sinking tragically under the weight of corruption and spiritual lethargy) a weakness of that mentality is the tendency toward activism, the idea that everything can be resolved politically. I wish it were so, because we should then be able, through the kind of action proposed by this web site, to turn things around by getting ourselves politically organized to effectively oppose the ruling-elite. (And we should get ourselves organized to oppose all that is unjust and immoral in our society, and erect a moral and honest, God-fearing society, and restore American and the West to its Christian Tradition!) But the point is that political action is not enough. As it is, there are lots of politicians on both sides or on the many different sides of any given issue, and yet the deplorable mess we’re in continues. Many politicians have promised to do something about the criminal “law” legalizing abortion, but our nation is still exporting abortion world-wide and pressuring resisting nations to capitulate (the Philippines, for instance). So, yes, I would say we should continue to organize and work on the political level, but that such efforts can only be secondary to the spiritual effort to become perfect ourselves in the sight of God. Let us not forget Who is really in charge! Obama, Clinton, Reagan, whoever is sitting in the Oval Office is there only because God has permitted it. God will not violate the liberty He has given us, but neither will He tolerate our abusing it indefinitely. What really must happen, if we wish to counteract the accelerating slide toward disorder, chaos, and war, is a wide-scale conversion of heart. This begins with us. Through our personal sanctity we will effectively draw others to the truth—the example we give to others, not the brilliant arguments we formulate—will change hearts (through the grace of God, which we may obtain for others through our fidelity to God’s will and our acceptance of the cross). For this reason we must turn to Our Blessed Lady, Mediatrix of All Graces. Only a Mother, the Mother of the entire human family, can pull us together at this point. Left to our own devices, we’ll tear ourselves apart at the seams. So, I would urge that the righteous indignation, however justified it may be, be tempered with much prayer and humility, placing all our hope and trust in God, through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and that we proceed with the critically-thought out political action and cultural warfare in the peace and serenity of Christ, the Victor.
I am all for intelligently addressing the real problems and injustices being heaped upon us by the wicked and treacherous who sit in high places, but let us not allow them to disturb our spirit! By practicing sovereignty over our own passions, we may work effectively to reclaim the sovereignty of our nation. Otherwise, I’m afraid we ultimately will end up playing into their hands, while the Enemy of our soul rears back in his putrid throne, convulsing with laughter. May Our Blessed Lady keep us, protect us, and deliver us from sin and evil, while She crushes the head of the Enemy. Peace in Jesus and Mary.
P. S. I think the "Professional Liars of Journalism" should include citations and direct quotations (perhaps links to the actual footage) to substantiate the accusations against Mr. Cronkite. Did he really say and do these things? I am aware of the dishonesty of the liberal, Masonic media, but journalistic dishonesty must be countered with journalistic integrity, which includes giving solid documentation.
P. P. S. Please don't take this as discouragement--I think what has been done in this site is quite beneficial in terms of educating others to a marginalized point of view, one that aims to give a Catholic interpretation to current affairs: that is definitely to be applauded. Just that, if we are representing Catholicism, we must remember that the aim is the greatest glory of God and Our Lord Jesus Christ, and the salvation of ALL souls. Thus, let fraternal charity be the spirit in which we utter the Truth (Caritas in Veritate). Onward Christian soldiers!

Immaculate Missionary:
Just got back from Sunday Mass and dinner, and found this real gem of a comment. Thank you so much for this wonderful and thought provoking submission; I think it could have been written by my Pastor. He has often taken me to task for “going too far” in my charges, and has played the Devil’s Advocate and argued to test my charges, or my attitude, or my choice of language. These have been among the most spirited, testing and thoroughly enjoyable discussions I have ever had.
Everything I say here is backed up by volumes of quotations, and most of them can be found in the articles that are linked in the right hand column of this very WebPage. I have been keeping track for years and years, beginning seriously during the Vietnam War. Cronkite is also quoted a few times in the Anti-American Quotes WebPage, and probably in some other pages in this site that I don’t even remember.
I was on the ground in Vietnam; I saw what was actually happening, and I had access to what was being reported. Even after I came home from the war, I kept careful track of what various military units were doing what, and how it was being reported in the news. I began chronicling the lies in a book, which never got published, and which eventually morphed into this WebSite.
As it was reported in Vietnam, so it was reported on nearly every topic you can think to look at. American industry is typically demonized – the auto industry is a good example – as an uncaring, bourgeois and Capitalistic monster that exploits it’s workers and even kills, or at least does not prevent the death and injury of its own customers, in the name of evil profit. Profit is always evil in the eyes of the media.
The bottom line here is that I am a grunt, and not a diplomat. There is a huge difference. When the grunts are sent in, that is usually the signal that diplomacy has failed, in a most catastrophic way. It is too late for diplomacy. America is not on a slippery slope any more. We are almost over the precipice. At this critical historical moment, the only thing short of open warfare that can bring us back to common sense and common decency involves politics. America will either stay intact long enough for the 2012 election, and the election will go as they always have, and we will have another peaceful transition of administrations, or, America will go under as a recognized or recognizable USA.
God is the author of liberty, as you have indicated. If God is the author, who would dare to deny liberty? Marxists. In the name of egalitarianism, Marxists would deny individual liberty in favor of the collectivization of humanity and of property, and of theoretically equal redistribution of stuff. And Islam. Islam is not merely a religion, but it is first and foremost an aggressive and invasive theocracy that seeks to impose itself, by force if necessary, over all other religions and over all other forms of civil government.
I submit that liberty is the absolute requirement of salvation. The Gospel is preached to a man; he then must be free to chose to accept it, or to reject it. That is individual liberty. Both Marxism and Islam would deny that individual liberty. There is no God, says the Marxist. Convert, submit to Islamic law and pay the special tax, or die, says the Moslem.
If liberty dies here in America, where else in the world will it be found?
It is my lot to attack. Soon, when I get time, I will do another page on the “thirds” that we always seem to be divided into: those who embrace God, those who embrace “the world” and those who are always indifferent; usually distracted by entertainment or sports or hobbies or studies, and who don’t pay much attention.
Moses didn’t even get down from the mountain with the Ten Commandments before the worldly third was already worshipping a golden calf. In our own Revolution, one third wanted freedom, one third were loyal to the crown, and one third just stood around waiting for the dust to settle.
Today, the Tea Party awakening has thoroughly aroused the Godly third, shook up the middle third, and even taken in some of the worldly third. But anything can happen between now and November 2012. The Marxists will always, always have a solid, committed number they can count on, and, of course, Marxists are un-Godly and dishonest. Again, anything can happen.
I pray regularly, but probably not as well as you. America needs prayer and action; I am just more of an action kind of guy. I am going after the enemy, and when I go after the enemy I go for the throat with no holds barred. If a journalist is evil, he needs to be identified as evil. If he is weak in his ability to seek the truth, then maybe what he needs is a good smack in the face, rhetorically speaking.
You are quite correct in all that you say; but I cannot tone it down or lighten up on the real enemy here. It is a time for dividing. I offer peace to all upon whom His favor rests, but not to everyone.
Regards,
Vic
P.S.: Re your reference to Our Lady and the serpent in Genesis:
”I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between her seed and your seed; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel” – Gen 3:15
The little statue of Our Lady standing next to my computer shows her standing on the serpent, as also another icon downstairs. I still always think of Our Lady herself winning this contest, but it is her Son, Our Lord, Who will prevail in the end.
God bless.

Victor,
I think you have gone over the top in labeling practically all journalists professional liars. Even calling them professional implies some great, dark conspiracy. That some have lied may be true, and that some have not properly investigated what they have reported may be true, but to paint them all as professional liars is way overboard.

I disagree. Any of the articles in the right column of this page may be used to prove my point. Let’s just take the Vietnam War article as an example, and a couple of the lies reported as news.
“Charlie decides who lives and who dies on Khe Sanh.” That sentence, occasionally slightly reworded, is a lie; a flagrant and categorical lie. You in all likelihood cannot name one single big-time TV talking-head news reporter who didn’t broadcast that lie, repeatedly. You in all likelihood cannot name a single print journalist who didn’t publish that lie, repeatedly. They all were paid to broadcast and publish that flagrant categorical lie and that makes them professional liars.
“In the past, body-count figures supplied by American military have proved to be highly questionable.” That sentence, occasionally slightly reworded, is a lie; a flagrant and categorical lie. You in all likelihood cannot name one single big-shot TV talking-head news reporter who didn’t broadcast that lie. You in all likelihood cannot name one single print journalist who didn’t publish that lie. They were all paid to broadcast and publish that flagrant categorical lie, and that makes them professional liars.
Not one of them bothered to objectively investigate the veracity of what they were reporting. Not one. They just reported it, for money.

Vic
