This is the 9th Sunday after Pentecost. The Lesson is 1 Cor 10:6-13 and the Gospel is Luke 19:41-47.

How often have we overlooked, not considered or forgotten our Lord this past week, or month, or name the period of time? If God has become a mere afterthought to us, where do we stand in His sight?

We have to work; we have to eat; we have to sleep; we have to be aware of threats, be they physical, political or ideological; we have to take action to defend our own and our nation and our tradition.

But how much time do we devote to the One Most Important?

In times of extreme political distress, when our nation is being torn asunder by forces from within, we are quick to marshal our forces and concentrate on stopping the assault, with others or on our own; but often we are not as quick to even recognize let alone turn to what is most important.

  1. Question: What is vitally important when resisting enemies?
  2. Answer: Not being tricked into becoming our own enemies.

Yesterday we watched another Trump rally on News Max, and President Trump was again inspiring and encouraging, but ... like me, like us, perhaps like most of us today, he worried more about what is politically possible than over what is right.

What most of us might vote for, rather than the iron clad, concrete, cast in stone, absolutely unchangeable nature of right versus wrong.

In this life, knowing and acting on that is what is most important.

Political expediency is not as important as the right thing to do. Majority votes do not change reality. The whole reason we are a constitutional republic, and the constitution is so hard to change, is that

  • populations can be wrong, 
  • but right and wrong do not change.

President Trump spoke of the purely political "need" to support abortion of innocent babies in cases of,

  1. rape
  2. incest
  3. ectopic pregnancy (life of the mother).

A stand seen to be needed in order to win a political contest.

But abortion is always wrong. No baby deserves a death sentence because of the sins of anyone else.

Make no mistake about it: abortion is murder.

In cases of ectopic pregnancy, theologians today argue over whether it is licit for a doctor to remove the affected fallopian tube, thereby assuring the loss of the baby without directly taking its life, but saving the life of the mother.

Before Roe v Wade, no one even thought about it; they just did it. Doctors were committed to "do no harm", and to save the life they could save, and that would be the mother in such extremely rare cases of ectopic pregnancy. But now, since the unconstitutional and criminal establishment of Roe, everything about abortion is questioned, argued and politically fought over.

But murder should not be up for argument or political debate.

The original words that were carved in stone and carried down from the mountain by Moses were "Thou shalt not do murder", in the Hebrew language, where murder is interpreted to be the unwarranted taking of innocent human life.

If God said it, that's final.

As much as we love and support President Trump, in this political stand on abortion, he is wrong and God is right. It doesn't matter what is true politically; all that matters is what is right permanently.

The whole reason that pure Democracy is wrong is that,

  • the people can be fooled and tricked into believing falsehoods;
  • the people can be "educated" into believing things not true;
  • children can be raised in wrong ways and made anti-social;
  • mobs can be incited by evil men to do terrible things.

That's why America is a constitutional republic and not a democracy.

Consider the mob that stood before Pontius Pilot and our Lord, and cried out "Crucify him! Crucify him!".

They were Jews, the same as our Lord Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph. They knew right from wrong; they were raised in it. But they were inflamed with passion against Him by evil men who knew how to politically manipulate the majority.

Kind of like America's Marxocrat Party today, and not unlike the Francis Vatican today, or like the Sodom and Gomorrah of yesterday.

Just as Jesus wept over Jerusalem, predicted her downfall and how that downfall came to be, if a majority of American voters favor any kind of abortion, perhaps America's downfall is imminent.

There are certainly a lot of Americans committed to America's downfall.

President Trump should not join them, even a little bit. He stands out because he is different; he should stand out even more by being even more different, by opposing abortion in every circumstance, win lose or draw. Because abortion is wrong. Period. And so is sodomy, and every other sexual and sensual perversion of nature.

He should stand on that.

Right and wrong are fixed forever, and not up for a vote.

No matter how many people vote against it, they cannot make that which is wrong right. Right and wrong do not change and cannot be changed by man.

That's why the American constitution forbids the American government from addressing in federal law religious issues and the moral issues that spring from religion. The constitution forbids the legislation, enforcement and adjudication of religious and moral issues by any branch of the federal government. They are matters for the sovereign states and the sovereign citizenry to settle, not the central US government.

The fact that the federal government has addressed such issues in law does not change the fact that the constitution forbids it. It only means that America has criminal violators of federal law officiating in the federal government.

We have a criminal US government.

It isn't the constitution that is wrong; it is the government that is wrong. The US government is supposed to be constitutional.

Just as the Vatican is supposed to be Catholic.

I can show you in the constitution where Americans, including unborn Americans, have a right to Life. You cannot show me where I, or anyone, have no right to stand up and protect that right.

Similarly, you cannot show me any "right" to commit sodomy in the Constitution; yet I can show you

  1. my citizen constitutional right to speak out against it,
  2. a long criminal history of speech oppression against that right.

America, even with a President like Trump, is not going anywhere worth going without God. If we do not stand on right and wrong, we do not stand at all.

Now, I am as guilty as the next guy, and perhaps (I hope) more guilty than most, of neglecting He Who is most important. But if we can turn this situation around, we had better do it while we still can.

How's your morning offering going, and your evening reflection, and your daily rosary? Have you slackened off completely? Or are you just going through the motions, "reciting" without thinking, turning it into little more than any pagan mantra, just getting it done so you can do "more important" stuff.

We must realize and remember that there is nothing more important.

I cannot recommend the Divine Intimacy highly enough. It follows the same liturgical calendar as the 1962 Roman Catholic Daily Missal. Even if you cannot attend daily Mass, you can schedule a little time each day to read the daily Missal readings, and then supplement them with the daily readings from the Divine Intimacy. 

It's an expensive book for people like us, but then our souls are expensive too. It takes a bit of work to get in grace, and work to stay in grace, and an active prayer life helps not only us, but those around us, right on up to the nation that we, the people, make.

Divine Intimacy offers, for every day of the year,

  1. a meditation on the topic(s) of the day's missal readings, and,
  2. a "colloquy" - a gathering of theological questions and a discussion/conversation/communication - a communion - with the Divine, leading to,
  3. a deeper understanding of and merging with His will.

Slow down, and Commune. He waits. He seeks communion with us.

Be not afraid.

If God is with us, nothing else matters.

It is not too late to turn ourselves and our nation around, but it begins with us. It can spread out from us and turn other Americans around.

Our government, with Biden in the lead, is illegally

  • weakening our military
  • holding our borders open to our enemies
  • wrecking our fuel and energy industries on purpose
  • promoting abortion, sodomy and transsexual perversions
  • suppressing freedom of speech and press
  • protecting open thievery and violent criminals
  • prosecuting political opposition for crimes that never occurred
  • falsifying evidence
  • spending America into economic doom

And more, all at the behest of Falsehood, i.e., Satan.

And all in direct opposition to Truth, i.e., God.

And following Falsehood in all areas of knowledge leads to lunacy. Just look at what Biden and the Marxocrats are pushing on Americans.

  • An anthropomorphic (man-caused) climate change crisis that does not, never did and cannot ever exist in reality.
  • The existence (and "rights") of human "genders" other male and female.
  • Mask mandates for masks that cannot screen out any virus.
  • Vaccine mandates for vaccines that do not protect the vaccinated.
  • The "Pride" associated with sexual perversion and licentiousness.
  • The "right" to attack police and white people and riot in cities.

A break with reality is the one common characteristic of all forms of insanity. Believing and/or acting on falsehoods; things that are not real.

Sin and insanity appear to be the exact same thing.

Making a nation insane is the same as making a nation evil. Whether you want to call it Satanic or Psychotic makes no difference. If it opposes reality, it is both.

Coming back to simple reality means coming back to the Creator of reality.

It works every time.

Try it.

It's wonderfully infectious.
